Grant, O God, that we may lie down in peace, so we might rise again in strength. Renew the commitment of our souls to trans liberation.
Spread the palm-leaf thatching of Your peace over all of us, and protect us from the cruelty of bigotry.
Teach us to hold the complexity of all human beings, and to see Your image in all that lives.
You, our God and our Protector, cannot be contained by the confines of gender or reduced to a single name, so be our help.
Let the shadow of Your wings be a refuge for trans and queer people. May You be their sanctuary, shielding them against the enemy of reaction, the sickness of intolerance, the war on equality, the starving of hearts, and the sorrow of living narrower lives out of fear.
Keep us far from the errors of reductive thinking for You, O God, deliver us from narrowness to expanse.
Be with us as we resist hatred and the ease of bystanding, for You watch over us.
Give us the surety to follow Your path of justice without wavering. Incline our hearts to live in solidarity. In Your strength, we gain the courage to sustain the struggle for freedom, for You, Eternal One, are our Deliverer.
Guard our coming out, however many times we may do it, and our staying in, whenever we feel we must.
May we live to see the day when everyone can live their fullest selves with openness and integrity. May we know life and peace evermore.
Amen.
